ProX 34DB Disc Brake Carbon Road Wheels - Quick Engagement Hub With Affordable Price

As cyclists, it's safe to say we obsess about the carbon bike wheels including wheel's stiffness, weight and aerodynamic property etc. Sometimes we might ignore the hubs. Although the mechanical components are hidden in a hub shell, it's still the central to performance.


ProX 34DB disc brake carbon road wheel features
Looking for quick engagement, solid build and affordable road hub? The new ProX 34DB hub has all that. Good quality hubs are made by well selected hub manufacturer in Taiwan. It uses a 48-tooth drive ring at 4 degrees inside which is engaged by all four pawls at once. Each pawl has three teeth, giving a solid 12 points of contact to drive the hub forward. For the regular pawls freehub system, there are 3~6 pawls generally with 1 tooth only and won't provide much firmly supports while pedaling at very beginning. With the ProX 34DB hubs, the road and gravel bikers can feel the most efficient instantaneous driving performance from the riding feeling compared to other regular hubs.
In my opinion, this hub won’t be extremely metallic in the sound while freehub is rotating. It’s smooth sounds without loud noise. This is one of the features I love it besides its affordable price, lightweight (358g/pair) and compact hub shape. In addition, ProX 34DB hub can be made with your customized logo (either etch logo or make stickers). So it will become your own brand hubs!

4-pawl x 3-teeth freehub structure inside 34DB hubs

ProX provides two width option for our 34DB disc brake carbon road wheels. That is, 28mm width carbon clincher rims, and 25mm width carbon rims clincher.

The 28mm width rim series (model PRD28) is with 28mm outer (21mm inner) width.

For such wide road rims, the optimized aerodynamics tire size is 700*28C. If you plan to use 28C (or wider) tire, PRD28 rim series is recommended.

The 25mm width rim series (model PRD25) is with 25mm outer (18mm inner) width.

For such wide road rims, the optimized aerodynamics tire size is 700*25C. If you plan to use 25C tire, PRD25 rim series is recommended.

Excessive materials are eliminated to save weight, while extra materials are added around spoke hole for reinforcement.

Relatively 18mm/21mm inner width, make it possible to fit multiple sizes of tire.

Normally road tire size 700x25C and 700x28C are recommended (also fit other wider tires).

Xiamen ProX Carbon Technology Co., Ltd. set up factory in Xiamen City (Fujian Province, China) in 2010. At the beginning, we manufactured all kinds of customized carbon fiber products according to customers’ demand, including carbon bike rims, carbon tubes, carbon drone body shell, etc. Since 2012, we decided to focus on main products - carbon bike rims. In 2012, we built full range carbon road rims with 20.5mm width. In 2014, we built full range carbon road rims with 23mm width. In 2015, we built full range carbon road rims with 25mm width. In 2018, we introduced product line for MTB carbon rims (both symmetric and asymmetric design). During the same year, we set up wheel building workshop, and started to build carbon wheelset in-house. During the same year (2019), LightCarbon (China leading carbon frame manufacturer) visited us. After several trial order for testing, they were very satisfied with our quality. Eventually, LightCarbon invested our facotry, and we build close business relationship. ProX supply carbon rims and carbon wheelset to LightCarbon, and LightCarbon supply carbon frameset and components to ProX.
