Premium alloy 7075 material is used for both the cap and valve body, which provides great strength and light weight. ProX tubeless valve features a 4-hole design on base for optimal airflow and full insert compatibility. This kind of Anti-Clog Side Hole Design greatly reduces possible block from dirt, debris, or rim tape sealant. The 4mm Allen key allows for easy screwing & unscrewing of the valve. Thanks to its precise internal threading and core interface, there will be a perfect seal after installation. Valve Lengths Options: At present, ProX tubeless valve has 3 lenth options, 44mm, 60mm and 80mm. The general guide for length are as following: Valve length 44mm: Ideal for 20mm-29mm height rims Valve length 60mm: Ideal for 30mm-45mm height rims Valve length 80mm: Ideal for 46mm-65mm height rims The Golden Rule: Length Matters! The valve length should be at least 15mm longer than your rim's height. Example: rim depth is 45mm and you need at least 45+15 = 60mm of valve stem. Slightly longer is acceptable (and often preferable) which ensures the valve tip is easily accessible for any pump head. Always select an valve length that exceeds your rim height by at least 15mm. How to properly maintain bike hubs to ensure smooth operation, longevity, and reliability of your carbon wheelset? Maintenance Frequency Recommended For Bicycle Hubs: Standard Use: every 1,000–1,500 km or 3–6 months (whichever comes first). Harsh Conditions (wet, muddy, dusty): every 500 km or monthly. Post-Ride Check: clean externally after muddy/rainy rides to prevent grime buildup. The detailed procedures and tools needed to service both ratchet-system hubs and pawl-system hubs are shown as following: General Tools Needed: grease rust remover clean cloth/paper towels small brushes 1. Ratchet-System Hub Maintenance Procedures: 1) Disassemble the hub: separate the ratchet rings (located on the driver body and hub shell). 2) Clean components: wash ratchet rings, springs, freehub body etc. by rust remover to remove old grease/dirt. 3) Inspect for wear: check ratchet teeth for rounding, chipping, or uneven wear. In case damaged, replace them. 4) Re-grease: apply a thin layer of grease to the ratchet teeth, bearings and inside of hub. 5) Reassemble: reinstall ratchet rings, axle and end caps. 6) Check engagement: spin the hub to ensure smooth engagement and no grinding noises. 2. Pawl-System Hub Maintenance Procedures: 1) Disassemble the hub: separate the freehub body from hub. 2) Clean components: wash pawls, springs, freehub body etc. by rust remover to remove old grease/dirt. 3) Inspect for wear: check pawls for cracks, wear or weak spring tension. Replace if necessary. 4) Re-grease: apply a thin layer of grease to pawl pivots, bearings and inside of hub. 5) Reassemble: reinstall springs and pawls (ensure correct alignment). 6) Check engagement: Pawls should click smoothly and engage instantly while spinning the freehub. Tips For Carbon Spokes Replacement For most carbon bike wheels, the general maintenance procedures are cleaning, damage inspection, tire pressure checking, spoke tension checking and possible spokes/nipples repairing etc. Nowadays, carbon spokes wheels are getting more and more popular in the market. Some of the difference between carbon spoke wheel and regular wheel should also be noted, especially when assembling and disassembling spokes. Due to the property of full carbon spokes, the thread locker glue is a must during wheels building. Otherwise it will become loose easily. That glue is applied directly to the thread on spoke end, which helps to fix the nipples on spokes firmly and greatly reduce the risk of loosing. Therefore, please use more torque when you try to move the nipples from the spokes. For wheel builders, it is crucial to use proper tools while assembling and disassembling carbon wheelsets. For full carbon spoke wheelset, the recommended tools are as following: Tools showed in below picture (with a "X") are Not suitable for carbon spoke wheels. If such tools are used during full carbon spoke wheelset assembly or disassembly, the nipples/spokes will be damaged easily due to the overloaded force on them, because such tools are not able to provide enough stressed area. Here are a few tips on how to replace full carbon spokes on the wheels properly: * Use the recommended wrench(3.4mm), hexagon(5.5mm) and thread locker (medium strength). * Apply a little thread locker on spoke thread (only one side is enough). * Get metal piece of spoke (at spoke end) stuck by wrench and nipples by hexagon. Note, make sure NOT fix carbon spokes at the upper (body) area. * Hold spoke firmly by wrench and apply the torque on hexagon with anticlockwise direction to loosen it.
