Bicycle Rim Width Tire Size Chart Dec 28, 2020

When you are going to buy bicycle rims, you may also consider what size of tire to use on it.

Or you may already have tire and are wondering which size of rim would fit your tire.

Improper tire size could cause damage on the rim may put rider in danger.

If the tire is too narrow, you may suffer more pinch flats and blowout.

If the tire is too wide, you may suffer tire burping. The stability and controllability will be weakened.

The following chart provides the guidance.

Please note, when you look at the table, the width of rim should be “inner width”.

The letter “C” is short for Compatible, while letter “O” is short for Optimal.

It is firmly recommended that you choose the tire size within “Optimal” range, which will better fit the rim, easier for assembly,

and provides best performance of tire/rim combination.
