DESCRIPTION

ProX has launched unique undulating gravel disc series rims. These rims are designed with 24/25mm inner width, which is suitable for gravel tires with size 700*30C-53C. Cyclocross/Gravel carbon rims are with relatively shallower profile but wider in width. Generally, it is something between Road and MTB rims. 
As the name indicates, undulating carbon rims are with varying depth. If measured from spoke hole area, the UCX30-340 rim is with 40mm depth and in between it drops to 35mm. This depth profiles wave up and down 5mm for better aero performance and crosswind stability. It allow the riders to handle the bike better especially in the wind. 
ProX undulating disc brake rim is only available in conventional 24 spoke holes currently. The rim is specific reinforced to each spoke hole drilling in the deeper area to increase rim strength and stiffness as well.

ProX decal/logo is offered for free as showed in ProX decal page. The decal will be applied on the rim and do the matte or glossy finish according to customers’ preference. You can choose either with such gold ProX decal or simply without decal (UD black matte or UD black glossy finish).

30mm width undulating depth carbon gravel rims

Apart from regular bead hook models (UCX30-340-SL, UCX30-340), we also offer hookless models (UZX30-340-SL, UZX30-340) which is closer to MTB carbon rims. For riders who plan to use gravel bikes more like a MTB hardtail bike, and will use tubeless tire at lower tire pressure (not exceed 60psi), hookless is a good option.
For riders who plan to use gravel bike more like a road bike, and prefer higher tire pressure (max 90psi), bead hook is recommended.
Standard weight version (without "SL"  on the rim model name, such as UCX30-340) carbon rim is made from Toray T700 carbon fiber which is the basis to make high strength bike carbon rims. The max rider weight limit is 120kg/265lb.
Super light weight version (with "SL" on the rim model name, such as UCX30-340-SL) carbon rim is made from premium Toray T800 carbon fiber to achieve super light weight, which is more suitable for lighter weight riders (max weight limit 100kg/220lb). Both standard weight version and super light weight versions are optional for undulating gravel carbon rims.

calculate the ERD of road rims

ERD*

Effective Rim Diameter (ERD) is the maximum distance that spokes need to bridge going from one end of the rim to another. How do we calculate the ERD of our rims? The corresponding equation and a drawing is as shown:

ERD=OD-(rim depth)*2+(rim thickness)*2

For example：

ERD of UCX30-340-SL rim=633mm-40mm*2+3.5mm*2=560mm

Most people prefer ERD including the length of the nipple cap. However, customers may use different nipples and components for building. Please add the height of the nipple cap(2.5mm~3mm generally) for your spoke calculation. If the height of the nipple cap is 3mm, then ERD of your UCX30-340-SL rim is 560mm+3mm*2=566mm

Xiamen ProX Carbon Technology Co., Ltd. set up factory in Xiamen City (Fujian Province, China) in 2010.
