DESCRIPTION

ProX Own Mould 98DB Disc Brake Road Wheels - Affordable Carbon Wheelset For Training

Considering the cost of DT Swiss hubs increases quickly, and lead time is getting longer and longer, ProX has developed our own mould disc brake hubs (called 98DB). 

ProX carbon road disc wheels 98DB

ProX 98DB road disc brake hubs are designed with 6-pawl freehub system, featuring regular steel bearings. New and improved design of adding the springs to the pawl freehub system which increases efficiency and resilience when pedaling. In that case, the friction is reduced and that can contribute more energy to the wheels. Both center lock and 6-bolt are optional. The end caps of both thru axle( front 12*100mm TA/rear 12*142mm TA) and quick release(QR, front 5*100mm/rear 5*135mm) are also available which allow you to easily switch between different types of bikes or wheels. This is particularly useful if you have multiple bikes with different axle systems or if you frequently change wheels.

In addition, 98DB hubs can be made with your customized logo (either etch logo or make stickers). So it will become your own brand hubs!

ProX 98DB hubs structure and features

ProX provides two width option for our 98DB disc brake carbon road wheels. That is, 28mm width carbon clincher rims, and 25mm width carbon rims clincher.

The 28mm width rim series (model PRD28) is with 28mm outer (21mm inner) width.

For such wide road rims, the optimized aerodynamics tire size is 700*28C. If you plan to use 28C (or wider) tire, PRD28 rim series is recommended.

The 25mm width rim series (model PRD25) is with 25mm outer (18mm inner) width.

For such wide road rims, the optimized aerodynamics tire size is 700*25C. If you plan to use 25C tire, PRD25 rim series is recommended.


6-bolt or Centerlock?

6 bolt or centerlock refer to the attachment between the rotor and hub. As long as the hub is attached to the rotor and centered correctly, both of disc brakes systems will grab your bike and slow you down.
ProX 98DB road hubs are available on both 6 bolt and centerlock options. Below are differences between 6 bolt and centerlock disc brakes.

Each system has its pros and cons, and each cyclist should be able to conclude which one is best for themself. The good news is that despite the differences, both the 6-bolt and centerlock can offer great stopping power. 6-bolt or centerlock--the decision is yours!

Combining with stable resin system to make consistent quality and light weight carbon fiber bike rims.

By using well designed lay-up structure, mixing Toray T700 and T800 carbon prepreg, light weight carbon rims are created.

Excessive materials are eliminated to save weight, while extra materials are added around spoke hole for reinforcement.

Xiamen ProX Carbon Technology Co., Ltd. set up factory in Xiamen City (Fujian Province, China) in 2010.
