ProX C69DB Full Carbon Spoke Road Wheels - Ultra Light Road Racing Wheels
ProX C69DB is an ultra-light full carbon spoke road disc wheelset designed for fast-paced road riding and high-performance racing. Built around the high-performance C69DB hub, titanium spoke heads, and a lightweight carbon rim, the wheelset combines low weight, high lateral stiffness, responsive acceleration, and reliable long-term performance. The C69DB features a unique T-head spoke design, a 54T ratchet freehub system, and premium hub bearings. Together with the lightweight carbon rim and full carbon spokes, these technologies deliver efficient power transfer, precise handling, and dependable durability for demanding road riding.
Hubs:
The C69DB hub is manufactured by a well-established Taiwan-based hub maker and uses a straight-pull spoke configuration.
The front hub features 20 spoke holes with a 1:1 lacing ratio, providing a lightweight construction while maintaining sufficient lateral stiffness.
The rear hub uses 24 spoke holes with a 2:1 lacing ratio, optimizing spoke tension and strength between the drive and non-drive sides to better handle the higher torque generated by rear-wheel power input.
The hub's high-flange design further increases lateral stiffness for responsive handling, while the 54T ratchet freehub system provides fast engagement and efficient power transmission.
*Enduro Bearings
ProX C69DB hubs are equipped with Enduro XD15 ceramic bearings.
An Enduro exclusive, XD15 combines Grade 5 silicon nitride ceramic balls with an advanced nitrogen-infused aerospace stainless steel bearing race. The race is highly resistant to corrosion and designed to maintain a smooth running surface even when exposed to contaminants. Proprietary XD15 “speed” grease is used to complement the ceramic-hybrid bearing system, providing a combination of low rolling resistance, smooth operation, and long-term durability.
* T‑Head Spoke Hole Design
The C69DB hub features an exclusive T-head spoke hole design. The T-shaped recessed pockets in the hub flanges are precisely matched to the profile of the T-head spoke ends, allowing each spoke head to sit securely and flush within the hub hole. Compared with conventional straight-pull hub designs, this interlocking structure helps prevent spoke heads from shifting inside the spoke holes under repeated vibration and road impacts. By keeping the spoke heads securely positioned, the design helps maintain more consistent spoke tension and wheel trueness, while reducing the need for frequent re-truing and improving overall wheel reliability.
Spokes:
The C69DB uses customized full carbon spokes (CT3) with a default 3.2mm-wide aerodynamic blade profile. Made from carbon fiber with titanium spoke heads, these spokes combine low weight with high stiffness and fatigue resistance. The CT3 carbon spoke, including its titanium spoke head and titanium nipple, weighs approximately 2.3g, around 2.7g lighter than a well-known Sapim CX-Ray spoke with nipple. For riders seeking additional aerodynamic performance, the C69DB can also be upgraded to wider 5.2mm carbon spokes. The wider profile provides a larger aerodynamic surface while maintaining the performance advantages of carbon spokes. Compared with conventional steel spokes, the full carbon spoke construction provides higher stiffness and excellent fatigue resistance. According to ProX in-lab testing, the carbon spoke has a maximum tested spoke tension of 528kgf, significantly exceeding the typical maximum tension of conventional steel spokes, which is generally below 400kgf.
Please note: Due to the special wheel building tools needed for carbon spoke wheel building, as well as bigger nipple size (around 7mm diameter head, which is larger than Presta valve hole diameter 6.5mm), nipple can not be put into the rim through valve hole. It means No-External-Hole rim can not be built with carbon spokes (which comes with bigger nipple head). Thus, tubeless rim tape is a must if you intend to use tubeless tires. If you prefer No-External-Hole wheels, please choose our other carbon wheels (regular steel spokes).
