ProX 87MB MTB Boost Carbon Wheels - Cheap Price Mountain Bike Carbon Wheelset For Training/Commuting 

Considering the cost of DT Swiss hubs increases quickly, and lead time is getting longer and longer, ProX has developed our own mould MTB boost hubs (called 87MB). 

ProX 87MB MTB boost hubs are designed with 6-pawl freehub system, good quality with cheap price.

In addition, 87MB hubs can be made with your customized logo (either etch logo or make stickers). So it will become your own brand hubs!

If you like cost-effective hubs, ProX 87MB is very good option.

For ProX 87MB MTB carbon wheels, ProX provides wide range of carbon mtb rims (30/32/33/37/38/40mm) for different terrain, including Cross Country, Trail, All Mountain, Enduro and Ebike.

Our mtb carbon rims are with asymmetric design which helps to build wheelset with more even spoke tension between drive side and non-drive side. MTB carbon wheelset built with asymmetric mtb rims are stiffer and stabler. 


6-bolt or Centerlock?

If you are thinking about a new carbon bike MTB wheels, you may have come across the question-- 6 bolt or centerlock? 
6 bolt or centerlock refer to the attachment between the rotor and hub. As long as the hub is attached to the rotor and centered correctly, both of disc brakes systems will grab your bike and slow you down.
ProX 87MB MTB boost hubs are available on both 6 bolt and centerlock options. Below are differences between 6 bolt and centerlock disc brakes.

By using well designed lay-up structure, mixing Toray T700 and T800 carbon prepreg, light weight carbon rims are created.

Excessive materials are eliminated to save weight, while extra materials are added around spoke hole for reinforcement.

So, light weight is achieved without compromise in strength or stiffness.

Asymmetric design mtb rims help to make wheelset with more even spoke tension between drive side and non-drive side.

Carbon mtb wheels built with asymmetric rims are of better stiffness and stability.

The spoke tension on such wheelset will not get loose easily, lower frequency for re-truing is needed.

Hookless Design

Hookless Design

Compared to bead hook rims, the sidewalls of hookless rims are thicker and stronger, providing better impact resistance.

Straight bead provides more stance for tire. Tires will not be squeezed in bead as it was, which makes it less "light bulb effect".

Thus, the tire/rim engagement is more stable, more difficult to be blown out under strong impact, which is important for carbon mountain bike rims.

Tubeless tire is getting popular in road bike wheels thanks to its better traction, lower rolling resistance and better riding comfort.

All our carbon clincher rims are tubeless ready (also fit normal tube tires).

Optimized anti-burp bump design provides easy tire mounting, dismounting, as well as air inflation.

Based on customers’ demand, various choice of hubs, spokes and nipples are optional.

After wheel built, they are trued precisely at high standard (≤0.3mm) on roundness, lateral and center tolerance.

Xiamen ProX Carbon Technology Co., Ltd. set up factory in Xiamen City (Fujian Province, China) in 2010. At the beginning, we manufactured all kinds of customized carbon fiber products according to customers’ demand, including carbon bike rims, carbon tubes, carbon drone body shell, etc. Since 2012, we decided to focus on main products - carbon bike rims. In 2012, we built full range carbon road rims with 20.5mm width. In 2014, we built full range carbon road rims with 23mm width. In 2015, we built full range carbon road rims with 25mm width. In 2016, we introduced product line for BMX carbon rims, as well as fatbike carbon rims. In 2018, we introduced product line for MTB carbon rims (both symmetric and asymmetric design). During the same year, we set up wheel building workshop, and started to build carbon wheelset in-house. In 2019, we added 28mm width carbon road rims into our product line (both rim brake and disc brake). Besides, we created gravel carbon rims. During the same year (2019), LightCarbon (China leading carbon frame manufacturer) visited us. After several trial order for testing, they were very satisfied with our quality. Eventually, LightCarbon invested our facotry, and we build close business relationship. ProX supply carbon rims and carbon wheelset to LightCarbon, and LightCarbon supply carbon frameset and components to ProX.
