ProX carbon fatbike rims are designed with double wall structure which is much stronger and stiffer than those single wall structure.
To meet diverse demand of riders, ProX provides fat bike carbon rims 65/80/100mm width option for 26er fat bikes (or snow bikes) and 80mm width for 27.5er fat bikes (or snow bikes).
Generally, 65mm width fat bike carbon rims are more suitable for riders who prefer a relatively lighter fatbike carbon wheelset and typically use 3.5’’-4.0’’ fat tires.
85-100mm width carbon fat bike rims are more suitable for riders who prefer to use big fat tires around 4.5-5.0’’ which is heavier but stabler in wet and slippery road condition.

ERD*
Effective Rim Diameter (ERD) is the maximum distance that spokes need to bridge going from one end of the rim to another. How do we calculate the ERD of our rims? The corresponding equation and a drawing is as shown:
ERD=OD-(rim depth)*2+(rim thickness)*2
For example：
ERD of PF26-65 rim=570mm-25mm*2+3mm*2=526mm
Most people prefer ERD including the length of the nipple cap. However, customers may use different nipples and components for building. Please add the height of the nipple cap(2.5mm~3mm generally) for your spoke calculation. If the height of the nipple cap is 3mm, then ERD of your PF26-65 rim is 526mm+3mm*2=532mm

Double Wall Structure All our carbon fat bike rims are designed with double wall structure. Considering fatbike rims are much wider than regular rims, double wall is necessary to guarantee the strength and stiffness.

Hookless Design Compared to bead hook rims, the sidewalls of hookless rims are thicker and stronger, providing better impact resistance. Straight bead provides more stance for tire. Tires will not be squeezed in bead as it was. Thus, the tire/rim engagement is more stable, more difficult to be blown out under strong impact, which is important for fat bike carbon rims.

Tubeless Ready
Tubeless tire is widely used in carbon fat bike wheels thanks to its better traction, lower rolling resistance and better riding comfort. All our fatbike rims are tubeless ready (also fit normal tube tires). Optimized anti-burp bump design provides easy tire mounting, dismounting, as well as air inflation. |
